Producing Audio Drama Journal (Studio Week)
During studio week, we had two meetings before the actual recording. One is with Jeremy to discuss our project and the selection of the actors, and the other is with the actors.
I found that communication is critical, not only between the production team but also between actors and the team. To be more specific, good communication skills allows others to understand information quicker and more accurately. For example, guiding the actors to keep their voice softer or pause between lines can make a big difference in the outcome. It will sound more natural and engaging when more detail the actors put in, such as their emotion or their accent.
Since I do not have much experience in recording like Marlyse and Kareem, I did not participate in the actual recording. However, I’ve learned a lot from taking notes and offering suggestions during the meetings.
